Eggscellent. Really.

April 2, 2010

Or, it should have been, but I was, for a variety of valid reasons, in such a cranky mood yesterday that I fear I dampened the egg dyeing proceedings enormously. That, and dyeing with a 4 year old and 2 year old does not a satisfying artistic experience make. However, deep breath, the boys were egg-ceedingly pleased with their results. We used some vinyl alphabet stickers (the kind they sell for mailboxes and signs) unearthed from the basement, a product of my very brief stint as a scrapbooking enthusiast, to spell the boys’ names, our last name, and make a number egg. This actually worked very well, but if you want to do the same, dry the eggs off very well and let them warm up a bit if coming straight from the fridge or the stickers will have a tough time doing their job.

I really look forward to getting more creative in our egg dyeing when the boys are older, but for now, I’m glad only two got cracked beyond use. And, bonus, the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, it’s gonna be a beautiful weekend and, oh bunny, do we need it.
